موضوع نوشته: صفحه نخست » Various applications of Sodium Carbonate in different industries

Sodium carbonate is called washing soda because if its many household cleaning properties. Washing soda can be found in many commercial washing detergents, but you can buy it on its own for cleaning jobs around your house and yard. Sodium carbonate is the sodium salt of carbonic acid. It is a strong alkali base used in green cleaning products. Often found in powder form, it’s used in a wide range of industries, such as cleaning and personal care products, as a fungicide, microbicide, herbicide, and pH adjustor. Soda ash prices are specified based on different factors , like the type which will be soda ash light or soda ash dense.

Soda ash is fantastic as a basic all-purpose cleaner (see recipe below), and it can be used on nearly any surface except aluminum and fiberglass, which will be scratched by it. It is a mild skin irritant when used in extremely concentrated forms, but an application of a 50% solution of sodium carbonate dense to human skin produced no irritation on unbroken skin. Sodium carbonate occurs naturally in the ashes of many plants. It is often found in the mineral deposits left behind from seasonal lakes. Seaweed ashes are one of the most common sources of natural sodium carbonate.

Sodium carbonate may go by the following names:

Washing soda, Soda ash, Disodium carbonate, Calcined soda, Carbonic acid disodium salt, Solvay soda

Soda ash dense is used in domestic purposes and industrial productions.

    for softening the hard water

for washing purposes in the laboratory

    in textile industry

    in petroleum refining industry

to produce soap, glass, paper, borax, caustic soda, etc.

A mixture of Na2CO3 and K2CO3 is used as a fusion mixture.

Na2CO3 is used as a reagent in the laboratory.

    For paint and dye stuffs.

    For metal refining

Sodium carbonate is used to identify cations in qualitative analysis. It precipitates insoluble carbonates of calcium, barium and strontium. Ammonia can be reused while other raw materials are cheap. Only calcium chloride(CaCl2) is not sent back to the process. CaCl2 is used to manufacture gypsum from the mother liquor of salterns.

Sodium carbonate is alkali with a high pH when in concentrated solutions. And is produced in fifferent ways by soda ash manufacturers When it is added to water it breaks down into carbonic acid and sodium hydroxide (lye). Sodium carbonate is used in several cleaning products, including green cleaning ones, due to its disinfectant properties and ability to cut through grease and soften water. You can find it in laundry detergents, automatic dishwashing detergents, all-purpose cleaners, glass cleaners, stain removers, countertop cleaners, sanitizing sprays, and bleach. To clean and disinfect with sodium carbonate, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends using 2 ounces per gallon of water. This solution can be used to clean hard, non-porous surfaces, such as floors, walls, bathtubs, tile, and grout.

Sodium carbonate is considered an irritant at concentrations below 15 percent and caustic above 15 percent according to the EPA, so keep this in mind when mixing your cleaning solutions with it. Wear cleaning gloves and avoid getting it in your eyes or mouth.

Based on what soda ash suppliers suggest In addition to its use in cleaning products, sodium carbonate is used in:

    Chemical manufacturing

    Food (e.g., anticaking agent)

    Glass manufacturing

Personal care products (e.g., bubble bath, toothpaste, bath salts and soaks, scrubs)

    Pulp and paper products

Swimming pool maintenance (to adjust the pH)

Therapeutic treatments (e.g., to treat dermatitides)

Veterinary medicine treatments (e.g., to treat ringworm, cleanse skin, treat eczema)
